Vanlife Lifestyle Insight Lived Experience

Off Grid Lifestyle Insight / Lived Experience

This space is about lived experience — not theory, not highlight reels, and not someone telling you how it’s “supposed” to look. These are real stories from people actually living off-grid, on the road, or somewhere in between. The good days, the bad calls, the compromises, and the things you only learn by doing it yourself.

Lifestyle looks different for everyone. Full-time, part-time, seasonal, weekenders — it all counts. What matters is how it fits your life, your limits, and your reasons for choosing it. This category exists to share honest insight, not advice from a pedestal. Take what’s useful, leave what isn’t, and trust your own judgement.

If you’ve come across a video that shows how things actually play out over time — the compromises, the routines, the bits that don’t make the highlight reel — that’s the sort of thing we’re interested in here.

We’re especially drawn to lived experience. People talking honestly about what worked, what didn’t, and why they’d make the same (or different) choices again. Not advice shouted into a camera, not “watch this before you go off-grid”, just real situations and the thinking behind them.

If you’re a creator and your video fits that description, you’re welcome to get in touch. We always ask permission, we don’t edit or monetise your work, and we add UK context so viewers understand the bigger picture around it.

If you’re watching rather than making, comments and questions are just as important. Ask about the grey areas. Share what you’ve seen play out in real life. Add context, not noise.

This isn’t about doing off-grid “right”.
It’s about understanding what it actually looks like once the novelty wears off.
